Common Symptoms of a Bad Camshaft Position Sensor:
- The check engine light comes on, frequently flagging diagnostic trouble codes like P0340, P0341, P0365, or P0366
- The engine cranks for an unusually long time before finally sputtering to life (extended crank)
- A sudden, random stalling or dropping out of the engine while driving or idling at a stoplight
- A noticeable drop in engine power, poor throttle response, and reduced fuel efficiency
- Severe engine stumbling, jerking, or misfiring due to incorrect fuel injection and ignition timing
