A quick and direct guide showing you the exact location of the hidden window sash clamps and access points required to release the door window glass on a 2013-2022 Buick Encore. Once the inner door panel card and the plastic moisture vapor barrier are peeled back, the window regulator tracking mechanism is fully exposed inside the hollow steel door shell.
- Access Ports: Located in the middle of the inner steel door framework. There are two round or rectangular access holes covered by rubber plugs or adhesive patches that align directly with the window glass brackets when the window is rolled down roughly halfway.
- Sash Clamp Bolts: Tucked inside these access ports. The window glass is secured to the window regulator lifter plates by two 10mm bolts (one on each tracking rail) that clamp tightly around the bottom edge of the glass.
- Glass Run Channels: The felt-lined vertical tracks inside the front and rear window frame borders where the edges of the glass slide up and down.
DIY Friendly Repair Guide
If you are planning to replace shattered window glass, swap out a bent window regulator track, or fix a dead power window motor, knowing exactly where to stop the regulator to reveal these clamp bolts is half the battle. You do not need to fully remove the 10mm bolts—just loosen them 3 to 4 turns until the clamp releases its grip on the glass, allowing you to lift the window glass up and out of the door frame by tilting the front edge down and pulling it out from the exterior side of the door. Common Bad Symptoms

If you hear a grinding, binding, or snapping noise inside the door card followed by the window glass refusing to move despite the motor humming, your regulator cables have snapped, and the glass must be released from the clips to replace the regulator assembly.
